Alejandro (Alex) is a Research Ecologist with the USDA Forest Service. His research centers on examining the role of biotic and abiotic factors on the diversity and abundance of forest plants. His research spans North America and includes work on invasive pests decimating Ash populations, American chestnut reintroduction efforts, ungulate impacts on plant diversity, atmospheric depositional impacts on tree productivity, and the role climate-adaptive forest management can play in mitigating climate change impacts. This last focus includes DREAM in both Quebec and Wisconsin, U.S. and a replicate of the Adaptive Silviculture for Climate Change (ASCC) study in Ohio, U.S.
