Mathieu Bouchard is a forester. He is interested in the implementation of forest management practices that allow the conciliation of multiple objectives such as wood production and biodiversity conservation. He also participated in several research projects studying natural disturbances such as wildfire or outbreaks of the spruce budworm, an important forest defoliator in Québec. In the context of the DREAM-Qc project, he collaborates to the study of the effects of silviculture and browsing on biodiversity, specifically soil insect communities.
