Catherine Périé is a biology graduate from Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France (M. Sc., 1993) and from Laval University (Ph. D., 2003). In 2001, she joined the Direction de la recherche forestière as a researcher in forest ecology and studied the effects of anthropogenic disturbances on the health of forest ecosystems. Since 2009, her research has focused particularly on Québec’s forests’ vulnerability to climate change. Her work focuses on the effects of global warming on forest composition and the vulnerability of forest regeneration to drought.
