Michigan State University

Tyler is a postdoctoral researcher working with Dr. Jessica Miesel at Michigan State University. His research broadly centers on understanding the resilience of forest ecosystems to global change. Past and ongoing projects include studying prescribed fire effects on forest drought tolerance, characterizing large-scale patterns in quaking aspen mortality, and examining the importance of plant-soil feedbacks in the establishment success of eastern North American tree species. As part of DREAM Wisconsin, Tyler is studying the role of biotic and abiotic constraints on tree growth and survival, especially in the context of assisted migration.
