From August 14th to the 19th, the joint annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) and the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution (CSEE) took place. Émilie Champagne and Bryce Adams presented some of their work there as part of a symposium organised by a few DREAM members. Émilie’s presentation, Tree assisted migration in a browsed landscape: can we predict susceptibility to herbivores?, was about her work on creating an approach to predict seedlings susceptibility to browsing by herbivores.
Bryce’s talk, Seasonal exposure to novel climates in building resiliency of eastern US forests, presented a model predicting climate novelty that may affect forest resiliency over the next few decades.
Patricia Raymond was also presenting some of her work in the form of a poster titled Assisted migration as adaptative and rehabilitation tool for degraded forests, that described the first DREAM-Qc research station and presented some early results from the experiment.
