LaRue, Hugo Ph.D. student

Student

Université Laval

Hugo is a doctoral candidate in forestry sciences at Laval University. As part of the DREAM-Qc project, he is studying the impact of neighbouring vegetation on the growth and survival of seedlings planted through assisted migration. His work aims to determine under what conditions this vegetation can mitigate the effects of high-stress events and act as a facilitating agent rather than a competitive one. He hopes that his studies in the DREAM-Qc project will help highlight the facilitating role of neighbouring vegetation and guide competition management practices in future assisted migration plantings.
