Claudio studies the ecophysiology of northern tree species, focusing particularly on cold resistance and winter dormancy dynamics. His aim is to understand which populations will be more successful in a scenario of assisted migration northward. He works on the establishment, maintenance and data collection in experimental plantations of northern tree species, including black spruce and sugar maple. Within the DREAM project, his role involves planning and carrying out field activities for the implementation of the experimental design in Simoncouche.
