Dr. Nelson Thiffault is a forest engineer in Québec. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Forestry from Université Laval and a Ph.D. in Forest Science from the same institution. Nelson works as a Research Scientist for the Canadian Forest Service of Natural Resources Canada, focusing on research in silviculture, including regeneration establishment and vegetation management. He holds Adjunct Professor positions at four universities in Canada and serves as an Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of Forest Research. Nelson is the deputy coordinator of the IUFRO Unit on the Ecology and Silviculture of Spruce and of the Task Force on Resilient Planted Forests Serving Society and Bioeconomy.
